Finally, participants will review case studies understanding application usage while learning the performance attributes.

Whether through patterns, materials, or color, the influence of fashion has always played a role in how we dress our surroundings. Similarities and connections drawn between fashion and interior design create a compelling narrative that serves as a point of inspiration for Color Trends 2026. Through an analysis of three major design movements of the 20th century – Arts & Crafts, Art Deco, and Mid-Century Modern, correlations between decorative styles and fashion are illustrated, alongside their iconic color palettes. Throughout the course, a renewed interest in classics refreshed for today’s interiors is demonstrated through a reverence for craft and attention to detail. Inspired by cues from fashion, the Color Trends 2026 palette invites an approachable sensibility with exceptional use of color.

This program will explore various design parameters in gypsum underlayments and floor/ceiling assemblies including sound performance, fire resistance, aesthetics and installation methods. Case studies will be used to demonstrate design options, solutions, and trade-offs based on the chosen parameters.

As climate change accelerates and the evidence mounts about the health impacts of indoor environments, creating healthy building interiors is not only the right thing to do, but it also makes good business sense for both healthcare organizations and design professionals. In this CEU presentation, attendees will learn about the history of healthy buildings and why they matter. They will also find out about the healthcare industry’s impact on climate change, along with how the physical environment of healthcare buildings affects patient and staff health and safety. Finally, they will learn about the business case for healthy buildings, as well as gain insight on some strategies for designing healthy building interiors.

With continued attention to open flames usage during roof construction, this presentation provides insights into several alternative flameless application methods for premium roofing systems. Attendees will learn basic chemistry and formulation for SBS-modified bitumen, PMMA, and STP that lead to long-term performance. Positives, challenges, and varied approaches to cold adhesive, self adhesive, and liquid applied solutions will be discussed in efforts to lessen or eliminate rooftop flame utilization.

Flooring in laboratories must not only be suitable for the facility's intended function, but also support the safety and comfort of it's occupants. Architects and designers are often challenged to find flooring solutions that can meet these rigorous demands while still providing proper aesthetics, ease of maintenance, and long-term durability. This course will provide a greater understanding of these key needs, as well as an overview of common flooring choices in the marketplace today.

This course introduces a unique, cutting edge surfacing material known as ultracompact surfacing (UCS) and explores how it is manufactured, installation considerations, and the attributes that contribute to its superior performance and design potential.

This second installment in the Future Vision series examines how design predictions translate into today’s materials, colors, and finishes. Using the biennial forecasting tool, we revisit the three trend stories from Future Vision Vol. 3—New Order, Safe Haven, and Fresh Start—and validate which elements are shaping current CMF design.

A convection steam oven should top that list, as it provides superior steaming, roasting, reheating, and defrosting compared to a conventional oven and standalone appliances.

That said, some mystique remains around convection steam oven technology. Most homeowners don’t fully understand the science behind steam cooking, the many functions of a convection steam oven, and the numerous health, taste, and time-saving benefits of this cooking methodology. This course will fill those knowledge gaps around convection steam ovens, including how they operate, technical installation considerations, and best practices for operation. With a bit of education, your clients will be full steam ahead with convection steam cooking.
