EDUCATION PROVIDER PROGRAM (EPP)

This session will focus on the principles behind light distribution and its practical application in downlighting. It will cover essential topics such as the physics of light, color temperature, Color Rendering Index (CRI), and beam angles. The discussion will dive into how different downlighting solutions influence space design and user experience, focusing on the role of optics, glare control, and how to choose the appropriate downlighting fixtures for specific architectural applications. The goal is to help Architects and Lighting Designers make informed decisions when selecting and integrating downlighting into their projects.

The term undertone has gained popularity in our design vocabulary, giving us a new way to decipher and evaluate color. Throughout this course, we will explore the beauty of undertones, focusing on ways to lean into their ability to enhance a space. By understanding the interdependence between a paint color and its surroundings, we can learn to appreciate the dynamism of color. We will start to look at color as more than just red, green, violet, or gray but from a more thoughtful approach. This idea is encapsulated by the Color Trends 2025 palette, celebrating the nuances and intricacies of color that elevate any design.

What is Authentic Luxury, and how does it affect the kitchen and bath industry? This presentation is designed to educate designers, builders, showroom consultants and sales representatives on how to differentiate authentic luxury from “posers;” bring a closer appreciation for the meaning of true authentic luxury; and how this understanding can help grow their business. This course is approved for 1-hour CEU credit.

Universal design in commercial restrooms is a growing architectural practice that includes and goes beyond ADA-mandated design to accommodate a wider range of individuals. These individuals represent significant percentages of the population, all of whom benefit from thoughtful universal design solutions. The holistic approach supports all versions of temporary and permanent physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, as well as the wide swath of occupants who may not be considered disabled but face specific limitations (ex. elderly, pregnancies, caretakers, etc.). Universal design also supports the "flight to quality" movement - spaces that prioritize occupant well-being, quality of life, flexibility, and positive user experiences. These enhanced spaces bring significant value to a brand and send a message to occupants that they are welcome.

This course reviews the benefits of using large porcelain panels in a variety of applications and reviews the sustainable characteristics of the material in comparison to others.

Breaking away from “color rules” and the confidence to use color in new or unexpected ways may be an uncomfortable proposition for some, while for others vivacious color is the ideal means to express personality and delight. Using color to create charismatic interiors and exteriors has become a defining characteristic of several notable architects and designers. The impact of taking a bold approach with saturated color is explored through architecture and interior design examples. In addition, key factors to consider when selecting color such as light reflectance value and the importance of quality paint attributes are reviewed. This course also provides directional insights on trending colors as expressed through the Color Trends 2023 palette.

This presentation will discuss the benefits of vegetated roofs and provide a basic knowledge of different types of vegetated roof assemblies. Attendees will become familiar with various roofing technologies commonly paired with vegetated roof assemblies, and the reasons why. Attendees will also learn key areas for coordination between team members to help ensure a successful vegetated roof project.

This course offers an in-depth exploration of Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT), focusing on its composition, functionality, and role within the resilient flooring category. Participants will gain insight into the distinctive, artful manufacturing process of VCT and learn how craftsmanship and precision set it apart from other commercial flooring options. The course also examines the renewed interest in VCT among commercial interior designers and architects, highlighting its design versatility, long-lasting performance, and evolving aesthetic appeal. By addressing real-world performance, maintenance, and lifecycle considerations, attendees will understand how to select and specify flooring solutions that promote durable, supportive, and comfortable environments for occupants.

Provide an overview of the benefits of green building with a focus on the need for water efficiency, and includes discussions on green building programs, green products for the kitchen and bath, and the importance of a taking a system-wide approach to water delivery and waste removal systems.

Not all showerheads are created equal. This course will take you on a journey that shows the evolution of the modern bathroom and technological advancements through the years. Participants will learn how the modern shower system is affected by limited water resources and government regulations in certain parts of the world and be able to distinguish between water efficient products versus ones that simply save water.

This CEU will provide an overview of water resources and will explain why it’s so important that we protect our supply of usable water for use in the future. 

Keeping a building watertight across every condition, from the roof to the foundation wall, requires more than good materials. It demands a coordinated approach to selecting, detailing, and specifying systems that work together as one continuous enclosure. This course examines waterproofing technologies across roofing, above-grade walls, traffic-bearing decks, and below-grade applications, exploring how each performs in its specific context and how proper transition detailing keeps the entire system unified. Participants gain a working understanding of specification coordination and learn how to eliminate the technical gaps that most often compromise building performance and the well-being of occupants.

Discover how wayfinding shapes movement and experience in any space, with flooring as a powerful design tool. Participants will learn how color, pattern, texture, and material transitions can guide movement, enhance accessibility, and support user confidence while meeting WELL v2 and LEED v5 standards. Real-world examples and human-centered insights provide strategies for designing spaces that are intuitive, engaging, and supportive of occupants.

This course examines how the well-living movement and frameworks such as the WELL Building Standard connect to material choices. The course explores the composition and performance properties of 304 stainless steel, along with the market and design trends driving finish and feature decisions. Upon completion, participants will be able to identify which faucet characteristics support a genuine stainless specification and communicate that knowledge effectively in client conversations and product specifications.
